Welcome to the website of Anthony B. (Tony) Robinson, theologian, pastor, author, teacher, speaker and consultant. In the upper right hand corner of the home page is a “contact” tab should you wish to be in touch with him about an engagement or respond to something he has written.
Tony is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ. He is the author of thirteen books, including the best-selling Transforming Congregational Culture and the award-winning What’s Theology Got To Do With It: Convictions, Vitality and the Church. He is a frequent contributor to The Christian Century as well as other publications. He writes for the “The Daily Devotional” of the United Church of Christ.
He has served four congregations, most recently Seattle’s Plymouth Congregational Church, UCC.
Tony has taught at Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Vancouver School of Theology, Emmanuel College (University of Toronto), Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and Andover Newton Theological School among others. He has lectured at Princeton Theological Seminary, Brite Divinty School, Eden Theological Seminary, and Pacific School of Religion, among others. He has spoken widely at church and clergy conferences throughout the U.S., Canada and in New Zealand.
He holds graduate degrees from Union Theological Seminary in New York City and the University of Oregon. He has also done post-graduate study at Harvard Divinity School.

Tony lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife Linda. They are parents of three grown children and grandparents of six. In addition to writing, teaching and preaching, Tony enjoys kayaking, backpacking, rock climbing, skiing and cycling and gathering with friends for conversation and a glass of wine or pint of beer. He is “Seattle Urban Nature Guide” at Seattle’s Discovery Park leading programs such as “Tide Pool Explorations,” “Wildflower Walks,” and “Writing in the Wild: A Seasonal Writers Workshop.”
